At the heart of the northern beaches is Corolla Village, home of the little clapboard schoolhouse, the Corolla Chapel and the red brick Currituck Beach Lighthouse. This quaint community, with its sandy, unpaved roads, scrub pines and live oaks, was once a tiny fishing village and was the only populated area north of Duck.
