Over the past four centuries, Corolla's wild horses have watched as deserted dunes have become studded with hundreds of houses. Take a guided tour and see Corolla's Wild horses or rent a Jeep for a self guided tour.
Watersports enthusiasts can hit the waves on jetskis, waverunners, kayaks, and more! Take a surf lesson or rent the necessary equipment. Jetskis and waverunners are only allowed in the Currituck Sound.
The Outer Banks has several fishing piers and full-service marinas that offer anglers a dazzling array of boat rentals, fishing charters, bait and tackle supplies, and sightseeing tours.

Corolla Light Town Center
This shopping and dining village offers a cement skate park, play lot for the kids, a fishing pond and the addition of 14 new store fronts. This shopping village is closest to the communities of Corolla Light and Villages at Ocean Hill.
Recreation Activities at the Corolla Light Town Center
A small group of shops and history in the Corolla Village. This once tiny fishing village was one of the only populated areas on the Northern Beaches. Homeland of the Currituck Lighthouse, little clapboard school house, and the Currituck Heritage Park.
Jockey's Ridge is the tallest active sand dune system in the Eastern United States Shifting winds are constantly reshaping the dunes. The park also offers hang-gliding through Kitty Hawk Kites.
The first successful sustained powered flights in a heavier-than-air machine were made here by Wilbur and Orville Wright on December 17, 1903. A 60-foot granite monument in Kill Devil Hills commemorates their achievement. (252) 441-7430

A full-size reproduction of a 16th century sailing ship and is named for one of the seven vessels that sailed from England to the New World in 1584. Docked at Roanoke Island Festival Park.
The chapel is tucked away behind the Currituck Beach Lighthouse in Corolla Village. Located down a dusty road and hidden by trees, it is the most quaint and charming church you will ever see. Built in 1885 and recently expanded to accommodate its growing attendance.
At the Waterside Theatre on Roanoke Island this symphonic drama details the arrival and disappearance, recreated in America's longest running outdoor drama.

Outer Banks Lighthouses
The Currituck Lighthouse is in the village of Corolla. On December 1, 1875 the beacon of the Currituck Lighthouse filled the remaining "dark spot" on the North Carolina coast between Cape Henry light to the north and Bodie Island to the south. Hours: Open Spring through late Fall Admission:

The Ocracoke Lighthouse is located in the fishing village of Ocracoke on the island of Ocracoke and is the oldest operating lighthouse in North Carolina.
The present structure is the third. Congress authorized the money to build the present tower which stands 75 feet tall. The lighthouse was cemented and whitewashed in 1868, giving it the appearance it has today.

The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is the tallest brick beacon in the World, standing 208-feet high. The substantial structure, built in 1870, is black and white spiral-striped and the international symbol of the North Carolina coast. Visitor's Center and grounds open year-round. The Bodie Island Lighthouse is located eight miles south of US-158 and US-64 intersection and within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
