You can choose from several varieties of cheese steaks or try an oven-baked sub or burger. Definitely try the French fries or onion rings and put a quarter in the jukebox.

    A beach casual pub, Sharky’s serves up the traditional pub fare plus steaks and local seafood from the docks in Wanchese. They have a large, non smoking dining room and are happy to accommodate large families and groups. The kids’ menu includes chicken fingers and mac n’ cheese.

Corolla Light Town Center (Corolla) -This shopping and dining village offers a cement skate park, play lot for the kids, a fishing pond and the addition of 14 new store fronts. This shopping village is closest to the communities of Corolla Light and Villages at Ocean Hill.

    Names for Corolla’s wild horses, this family friendly cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.  Outdoor seating available on the deck. 


Corolla Village Shops (Corolla) -A small group of shops and history in the Corolla Village. This once tiny fishing village was one of the only populated areas on the Northern Beaches. Homeland of the Currituck Lighthouse, little clapboard school house, and the Currituck Heritage Park.

  • Corolla Pizza and Deli (252) 453-8592

    A longtime locals’ favorite, Corolla Pizza and Deli is a take-out restaurant offering New York style pizza by the pie or slice. They also serve up delicious hot and cold subs, sandwiches, Philly cheese steaks and more. They offer free delivery after 5 p.m.; call for details. Open almost all year round for lunch and dinner, they can handle large orders with ease, so feeding the entire (extended) family is no problem!

  • Corolla Village BBQ (252) 457-0076

    Locals sing the praises of the Carolina pork barbecue sandwiches served at this little restaurant that sits in the heart of old Corolla village. At meal times, the delicious smell of barbecuing pork, ribs and chicken lures customers from all over the village. This is a carry-out restaurant only, but there are a few picnic tables close by. You can also get soft-serve ice cream here, the perfect treat on a hot summer day.


Duck Restaurants

  • Angelo’s Sound Front Eatery (252) 261-6080

    You’ll find the pizzas that Angelo’s was known for, along with new gourmet pizza and sub, sandwich and wrap selections. The new owners are adding vegetarian and vegan lunch and dinner options. The dinner menu will be tapas, along with the full daytime menu. Angelo’s offers outdoor seating with awesome sunset views, and they plan to have live entertainment at least three nights a week in the summer. Delivery is offered in Duck, and take-out orders are welcome.

  • Aqua S Restaurant (252) 261-9700

    Aqua S Restaurant brings a new dimension of conscientiousness and well-being to Duck. Menu of healthy organic foods from sustainable farmers in the region. Their vision is to bring back the regional fare we’ve gotten away from and to infuse it with their creativity and passion for fine dining. The menu includes regional seafood and organic meats, vegetables, herbs and fruits. With about 80 seats, Aqua S is open for lunch and dinner and offers fabulous waterfront outdoor dining. There’s an emphasis on exceptional wine and creative martinis.

  • Baldies Burgers (252) 261-8090

    Baldie’s is a walk-up window establishment that has become a locals’ favorite for its quick, delicious meals. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner Baldie’s can satisfy all day long. For breakfast they offer egg and meat-based sandwiches on biscuits, English muffins or Texas toast plus hash browns, corned beef hash and breakfast burritos. For lunch and dinner there are hamburgers, hot dogs, cheese steaks, fried fish sandwiches and seafood baskets plus onion rings and French fries. Hand-scooped ice cream is available in a great selection of flavors. Baldie’s offers outdoor seating at picnic tables.

  • The Blue Point (252) 261-8090

    Recently expanded to nearly twice its original size, The Blue Point is lively, busy and fun, and it offers fantastic views of the Currituck Sound. The menus are creative,  upscale Southern comfort food best describes it, and they change seasonally to reflect the fresh local and regional ingredients that are available. The dinner menu offers salads, soups, starters and entrees of seafood, beef, pork, duck and pasta. The wine list is extensive and well thought out to match the fare. Beer and a full bar are also available.

  • Coastal Provisions Deli (252) 480-0024 

    Coastal Provisions Market in Southern Shores is a great place to get high-quality groceries and prepared meals. So it stands to reason that this sister deli on the Duck waterfront is equally satisfying. The deli serves salads, soups, sandwiches, calzones and crab cakes along with beer, wine and frozen drinks. There’s not much seating in house, just a few bar stools, but the deck offers outdoor seating and a killer view of the sound and sunsets. In the summer, come here for live entertainment and a refreshing frozen daiquiri or margarita in the evenings.

  • Duck Deli (252) 261-3354

    Duck Deli offers a departure from the standard Outer Banks seafood menus. Barbecue is the specialty of the house. They also make a range of sandwiches, soups and salads. Seafood is not big on the menu, though you can get a crab cake and some smoked fish to top off a Caesar salad. Duck Deli serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in season. Everything is available for take-out.

  • Duck’s Cottage Coffee and Books (252) 261-5510

    The front porch of this historic, cedar-shake cottage is a great place for watching the world go by. Featuring freshly roasted coffees, espresso drinks (hot or iced), herbal teas and chai lattes, biscotti, pastries and a variety of East Coast newspapers, Duck’s Cottage has your morning covered. Browse through the eclectic book selection and sample a page or two while relaxing in one of Duck’s oldest buildings.

  • Elizabeth’s Cafe and Winery (252) 261-6145

    Elizabeth’s focuses on pairing incomparable wines with the perfect foods for the ultimate palate pleaser. This restaurant has won a list of awards so long it’s impossible to list them all here; the most impressive may be the “Best Fine Dining Wine Restaurant in the United States” for 2003 by Sante Magazine. Elizabeth’s offers two seating’s nightly for its six-course prix fixe wine dinners, or you can order a la carte items off the menu and make your own choices from the epic wine list. Reservations are recommended. You can also sample wine and champagne at the Wine Bar or taste wines in the Wine Shop.

  • Fishbones Raw Bar and Restaurant (252) 261-6991

    A good place to gather your friends, Fishbones has a friendly, laid-back atmosphere that will have you lingering over a beer long after you’ve finished eating. Starters will get you going with favorites such as clams casino, wings, calamari, tuna bites and coconut shrimp. Then you can choose from amazing conch or clam chowders, salads, sandwiches, burgers, fried seafood baskets, seafood from the raw and steam bars, daily specials or entrees including fish, shellfish, beef, pasta and chicken. Many of the dishes here are Caribbean influenced. The bar area has TVs running for the people who are hanging out.

  • The Left Bank (252) 261-8419

    The Outer Banks’ most refined dining experience is found at The Left Bank restaurant. The interior of the intimate, 60-seat restaurant features an exhibition kitchen and sophisticated decor. Pairing food and wine is the highlight of the dining experience at The Left Bank. Dinner features contemporary preparations of seafood, beef, lamb, lobster, caviar and truffles. Reservations are recommended.

  • Pizzazz Pizza (252) 261-8822

    Pizzazz is a pizza favorite on the Outer Banks. They’ve been around since 1986 because they make consistently great pizza with generous toppings and the service is friendly. Choose from gourmet menu creations or stick with the traditional. Pizzazz also makes hot subs, salads and wings. You can eat in for lunch or dinner or have your pizza delivered anywhere from Southern Shores to Sanderling. Call for off-season hours.

  • Red Sky Cafe (252) 261-8646

    Red Sky is an inviting cafe with a creative menu of contemporary coastal cuisine. Beyond the wood-fired oven, the kitchen prepares seafood, pasta and chicken creations plus sandwiches, salads, soups, appetizers, house-baked bread and desserts. The daily specials are always worth trying. Red Sky Cafe offers full meals to go, and they also have a “Chefs on Call” service in which a chef will come to your home to cook.

  • Sunset Grille and Raw Bar (252) 261-3901

    This restaurant comes by its name honestly. It’s on the Currituck Sound, perfectly oriented to those nightly sunset shows. To better enjoy the sinking sun, you can dine outdoors on the huge waterfront deck if you choose. The lunch and dinner menus are focused on seafood, with many Key West and Caribbean-inspired dishes. Raw and steamed seafood, salads, chowders, a variety of appetizers, lunch entrees, burgers, sandwiches and dinner entrees of seafood, beef, chicken, pasta and ribs are available on the menu, along with tempting desserts. Sushi is served nightly. Sunset is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and later for the nightlife crowd.

  • The Roadside Bar & Grill (252) 261-5729

    The Roadside’s cuisine is contemporary, and many dishes have a decided Southern influence. For example, shrimp and grits with red-eye gravy is a staple on the starter menu. Fresh seafood, of course, is a highlight here. You can order from the raw or steam bar, slurp up some fine clam chowder, sink your teeth into a fish sandwich or swoon over lobster stuffed with crabmeat. The menu changes often and with every season. A full-service bar is available
