Arriving from the North: From Richmond, Virginia, take I-64 East to I-664 East. Take the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge/Tunnel across the
James River to I-64. From I-64, follow signs to Exit 291B (168 South) toward Manteo
and Nags Head. Continue on 168 South, which turns into 158 South at the
North Carolina border. Continue for about 60 miles and cross the Wright Memorial
Bridge to Kitty Hawk on the Outer Banks. Go to the 5th traffic
light and turn left onto Route 12. Once you are on Route 12, also called Ocean Trail, our check in office is located about 20 miles north on the left hand side, just north of the Inn at Corolla Light. Once you get to the stoplight in Corolla at the Food Lion shopping center you are about 2.5 miles from our check in office at 1070-C Ocean Trail.
Arriving from the South & West: From I-95 in North Carolina, take US-64 East toward Rocky Mount, continuing on to Williamston, North Carolina. Take US17 North to Elizabeth City, NC and then continue on to 158 East toward the Outer Banks. Continue for about 60 miles and cross the Wright Memorial Bridge to Kitty Hawk. The Scenic Route from the South: As an alternate route, you can follow the coastline north to Morehead City and on up to Cedar Island, where you can board a ferry to Ocracoke Island. From Ocracoke, follow Route 12 to the Ocracoke/Hatteras ferry and follow 158 North through Hatteras Island, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk. Turn right onto Route 12 in Kitty Hawk. Once you are on Route 12, also called Ocean Trail, our check in office is located about 20 miles north on the left hand side, just north of the Inn at Corolla Light. Once you get to the stoplight in Corolla at the Food Lion shopping center you are about 2.5 miles from our check in office at 1070-C Ocean Trail.
Arriving by Air: The nearest International Airport is in Norfolk, Virginia (ORF), a two-hour
drive from the Northern Outer Banks. From Norfolk you can rent a
car from any one of a number of national car leasing companies. If you
fly your own plane or book a charter service, you can fly into the
Dare County Regional Airport in Manteo (252) 473-2600 on Roanoke
Island.
