Lifeguards in Duck are on duty from 10:00am to 6:00pm between May 1 and October 31. The Town maintains lifeguard stations at various locations throughout the summer. Lifeguards also patrol our beaches on ATV's. Please note that certain lifeguard stations may close earlier than October 31.

COROLLA LIFEGUARD LOCATIONS |

Lifeguard Stands in Corolla are manned from 9:30am to 5:30pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day. These stands are supported by seven roving ATV units. The locations below are listed in order from South to North. |

Pine Island |
Where Audubon Drive meets NC 12, in front of the Pine Island Oceanfront community pool. No public parking unless you are a guest staying in the community of Pine Island. |

Public beach access with Bath house. |
Where Old Stoney Road meets NC 12. This is the only public beach access that offers a bathhouse. The Currituck Club trolley drops all guests off at this beach access. |

Ocean Sands |
Section D beach access where Marlin Way meets NC 12. Convenient to all guests staying in section D of Ocean Sands. |

Section F beach access where Sand Fiddler Rd meets NC 12. Convenient to all guests staying in section F of Ocean Sands. |

Section O beach access where Sea Bird Way meets NC 12. Convenient to all guests staying in sections H, I, J, and O (Ocean Lakes) of Ocean Sands. |

Where Crown Point Circle meets NC 12. Convenient to all guests staying in the community of Crown Point. |

Where Orion's Way meets NC 12, convenient to all guests staying in the Buck Island Community. |

Whalehead Beach |
Although Sailfish Street does not connect to NC 12, there is a FREE beach parking lot one block back from the Sailfish street beach access convenient to all guests staying in Whalehead Beach or Monteray Shores. |

Where Bonito Street meets NC 12 with FREE beach parking one block back from the Bonito Street beach access convenient to all guests staying in Whalehead Beach or Monteray Shores. |

Herring Street does not connect to NC 12. Convenient to all guests staying in Whalehead Beach. |

Although Sturgeon Street does not connect to NC 12, there is a FREE beach parking lot one block back from the Sturgeon Street beach access convenient to all guests staying in Whalehead Beach or Monteray Shores. |

Corolla Light |
Where Austin Street meets NC 12. Only guests staying in the community of Corolla Light will have access to this beach access. The lifeguard is stationed on the beach in front of the Corolla Light oceanfront community pools. This is the beach access that the community Trolley will drop guests off at near the Oceanfront activities. |

Lighthouse Ramp public Access |
Where Franklyn Street meets NC 12, right across NC 12 from the Currituck Lighthouse at this public beach access with unpaved parking area. (4x4 not needed) |

Villages at Ocean Hill |
Where Headwind Way meets NC 12. Convenient to all guests staying in the community of Villages at Ocean Hill. |
