The year 2020 is finally behind us. We’re not handing out breaking news to say it was a tough year. Just about all of us are glad to see it go.

One of the things that did happen, at least here on the Outer Banks—and it was a little bit surprising—more people than ever discovered how wonderful life can be on a sandbar.

April and May, of course, were horrible months for our economy, but once visitors were allowed back on the Outer Banks, they came in unprecedented numbers. We have had more visitors here than we have ever had. Many of them coming for the first time.

The early signs are that a lot of those first time visitors are planning on coming back again. And that, of course, is in addition to our regular guests. Early reservations this year are very strong.

But something else happened with all the visitors stopping by—the new and the repeat guests.

Why those early 2021 Reservations Are Recommended

They have been buying homes. And they have been buying homes in unprecedented numbers. The Outer Banks has never experienced a year where real estate sales were this strong. The only thing that seems to be slowing things down is there just aren’t as many homes to sell as there were two or three months ago.

That has certainly helped our Outer Banks economy.

It has, however, also created a unique situation that our summer guests probably should keep in mind.

A number of the homes that were purchased, were taken out of the rental market. There’s no need to panic…we still have a good number of homes for the summer. That being said, though, the earlier a reservation is made, the more likely it is that we’ll be able to match one of our Brindley Beach Vacation homes with what you want.

Here at Brindley Beach Vacations, we’re looking forward to a fantastic 2021 and we would love to have you as our guest.
