Acoustic Sunset, every Thursday at the Cotton Gin in Jarvisburg, is worth every minute of the drive north from the Wright Memorial Bridge. Set beneath the towering pines on the north end of the store, the backdrop is magnificent and the music always seems perfect for the setting.
It is a bit difficult to describe just what makes the Acoustic Sunset so special. Certainly, it is very family-friendly. The Wright family, who owns the Cotton Gin insist upon all activities at the location being perfect for the whole family.
There are picnic tables spread about and the grounds are very well shaded, there is wine available from Sanctuary Vineyards and a local brewery seems to be on hand just about every week. and the music always seems to blend with the mood.
This coming week, a special treat is on hand.
Mercy Creek at Acoustic Sunset
Mercy Creek will be bringing their musical genius to the stage. They are a husband and wife duo, and the music they perform is acoustic folk-rock on steroids. Cheryl, who has a big powerful voice, plays guitar and occasionally mandolin. Her husband, Jim, keeps the beat with drums and kick djembe.
The sound they get is like nothing else out there. A little bit challenging but ultimately worth every moment watching their performance.
The weather is looking pretty good for next Thursday evening. There’s always so much to do on the Outer Banks in the summer that it’s hard to fit everything in. Acoustic Sunset at Sanctuary Vineyards Wonderful is something that’s worth putting on the schedule and Mercy Creek is certainly worth checking out.
Why spend just one week exploring the Outer Banks. Even two weeks may not be enough. Book your stay with Brindley Beach Vacations to discover the real Outer Banks. Check out the main happenings in this city!
