The Dare County Arts Council (DCAC) always seems to put together something really special for Manteo’s First Friday celebration—occurring, of course, on the First Friday of every month. They have really upped their game for March. As we wrote earlier, local artist James Melvin will be the featured artist for the month of March, and the DCAC featured artist always has their opening reception at First Friday. Melvin is a remarkable local artist with an international reputation. He is also the illustrator of Suzanne Tate’s Nature Series of children’s books.
What really seems to take things to the next level in March, though is the Trio Live traveling exhibit of art, music, and literature. This is a traveling exhibit that brings together the creative vision of writers, a musician and visual artist to tell a story. This sound very interesting and is a great reason to stop by downtown Manteo and the DCAC Gallery on the evening of Friday, March 1, for the First Friday event.
No matter what time of year it is, there is always something to do on the Outer Banks. Take a week or two and stay with us at Brindley Beach Vacations and discover life on a sandbar. Click here to contact us!
