Runners—the Flying Pirate Half Marathon is almost sold out. The First Flight 5K is sold out so, don’t hesitate if plans call for being on the Outer Banks the weekend of the 16th and 17th.
The Flying Pirate is a really beautiful run; the last 5K is through Nags Head Woods which is an extraordinary example of a maritime forest. Shaded and running on a packed dirt road, it’s ideal for longer distance runners.
Lots and lots of swag at the end.
That weekend is going to be a big weekend on the Outer Banks with lots happening.
April 16 is the kickoff for the Outer Banks Bike Week. The word “week” is probably not quite accurate since events run from April 16-24, but who’s counting? This is the 14th Annual Bike Week so we must be doing something right because everyone keeps coming back.
There is too much going on for us to list it all—Pig Pickin’, blowout sales, lots of rides and live music. For anyone who rides this is a great event.
It’s still a little bit early to get a confirmed read on the weather, but right now the long range forecast is really promising for that weekend.
