It only seems like the Cotton Gin has been holding an Easter Egg Hunt in NC forever. Actually, it’s only 25 years.
We went in search of the perfect Easter Egg Hunt in NC this weekend, and the only conclusion that we were able to come to is there is no clear winner. However, as an award for doing it longer than anyone else we could find, the Cotton Gin seems to take the prize.
The Many Easter Egg Hunts in NC We Encountered
Best setting and all around fun with lots and lots to do? That probably has to go to Elizabethan Gardens, which, of course, has the beautiful formal gardens as a backdrop. But then they also throw in Egg spoon races, hat contest, musical acts, dancers and a visit from Sir Walter “Peter” Wabbit, as they call him.
For sheer volume, Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head has Easter Egg Hunts on multiple days so there is always a chance to load up on Easter goodies. These are the best Easter Egg Hunts in NC!
And those are really just the major one because it seems as though almost everybody gets in on the fun.
Still, the Cotton Gin up in Jarvisnburg on the mainland has always been one of our favorite places to take kids on Easter. Activities happen on the north lawn under massive pine trees. The Wright family, who owns the store has always been very family friendly and they really go out of their way to make sure kids have a great time.
A quick look into May events and there is a lot happening. Definitely mark your calendars for the week of the 13th through the 19th.
Actually what needs to be blocked out is May 15-19. That is going to be an amazing week of music.
The Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival has moved to the springtime and the 2019 dates are May 15-18 at Roanoke Island Festival Park.
Up in Corolla, the Mustang Music Festival is a two-day affair, Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19. Always has some of the best emerging rock and alternative bands around.
