Easter Egg hunt at Elizabethan Gardens

The upcoming week is a full week of entertainment here on the Outer Banks, starting on Sunday with Mike Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on the Beach Road in Nags Head. The week wraps up with the Outer Banks Taste of the Beach Thursday through Sunday an event that is as much a tour of the Outer Banks as it is a journey into culinary excellence.

Now that the weather is improving, though, more events are being scheduled. Here’s a quick look at some of the upcoming shows and things to do.

The Outer Banks Forum for the Lively Arts has been brining some remarkably good performances to the Outer Banks of quite a number of years and they may have hit the pinnacle of success with WindSync. Imagine classical musician playing traditional wind instruments rocking out to classical music. Imprecise and hard to picture, but it’s as close as we can get.

March 28, at the First Flight High School Auditorium in Kill Devil Hills.

First Fridays in Manteo kickoff for 2015 on April 3. A wonderful celebration of the arts, food, music and small town life.

There are so many Easter Egg hunts that we can’t list them all, but here are a few.

Fly into Spring and Easter Eggstravaganza at Kitty Hawk Kites’ Jockey’s Ridge store in Nags Head is April 3 and 4.  It includes a kite festival and demonstration at Jockey’s Ridge State Park.

Saturday, April 4 look for the Easter Eggstravaganza at the Elizabethan Gardens on Roanoke Island. A whole day geared toward kid’s activities including story time, crafts and games.

The Town of Duck will also be holding its easter egg hunt on April 4. The eggs are hidden in the town’s stores, so it’s an all day affair.
