The Lost Colony Wine Festival, a beautiful setting on the Croatan Sound.

We admit it…as much as we love the summer, the fall is a really special time on the Outer Banks. The weather is great—usually. Although there are some concerns right now. But generally, it’s wonderful.

What makes the fall particularly nice is all the festivals and activities that are happening. There are so many that when we make up a list, we’re not sure if it’s complete. Here’s what’s coming up in September with a couple of notes on some favorites.

ESA Easterns Surfing Championship

The ESAs bring the regional surfing champions to the Outer Banks for a week of surfing. Forget what you may think about this being an amateur competition. It’s amazing.

Fresh steamed crab, local beer, Sanctuary Vineyards wines in a beautiful outdoor setting. It doesn’t get much better than this. A very family friendly event.

The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival

Over 100 wines to sample, a beautiful setting, local microbrew beers, food from local chefs. Not much to complain about at all. The Friday night Vintner’s dinner is a culinary masterpiece.

So much to do and only a month to do it in. Reserve your stay with Brindley Beach Vacations today.
