The Outer Banks Wedding Expo 2016 wrapped up today and if there wasn’t record attendance it came really close. The weather was absolutely beautiful yesterday, but a cold front was passing through today pushing a driving rain and northeast winds through the Outer Banks, and some of our guests from the northeast may have left early to beat the weather.
Nonetheless, it was a great show, at least judging by all the Brindley Beach Vacations bags we gave away. The bags were a heavy duty beach bag construction, and attendees really seemed to like them.
Spread out over two locations—First Flight High School and First Flight Middle School in Kill Devil Hills—there were over 200 booths offering services for weddings. The range of what is available for a bride and groom to make their Outer Banks wedding memorable is astonishing.
There is music everywhere during the event—DJs playing examples of what they do; live musicians playing everything from classical to rock to pop and all forms in between. There are so many excellent photographers on the Outer Banks that making a recommendation is not possible. There was a traveling beer truck, frozen yogurt from Surfin’ Spoon, and what seemed to be every caterer on the Outer Banks—all with samples.
Of course Brindley Beach was there offering some of the finest venues for events on the Outer Banks.
There is such a large selection of services and vendors that wedding and event coordinators have become some of the most sought after professionals in the business.
The Wedding Expo was put on by the Outer Banks Wedding Association and for couples who are planning on coming to the Outer Banks for their wedding, that contacting them is a great place to start.
