The Outer Banks of North Carolina provides the perfect place to make incredible memories while you’re visiting. Between the wild horse sightings, lounging on the beach and air tours, there’s more to see and do than you ever imagined. While the potential for fun lies around every corner, one common denominator is the fact that all the exploring and sightseeing is bound to lead to a few hunger pangs. Fortunately, the Outer Banks is also an oasis of savory establishments just waiting to be enjoyed. While you’re here, be sure to add these three stops to your must-try obx restaurants itinerary.

Mike Dianna’s Grill Room

This seasonal obx restaurant features a variable menu that changes based on availability of fresh meats, produce and seafood. While your options may vary, what won’t vary is the quality of each offering. Enjoy appetizers such as beef satay, slivers of filet mignon marinated in a house-made Asian sauce and served with spicy Thai peanut sauce. Grill Room prominently features seafood on their entrée menu, with some of our favorite dishes being the Shrimp Cake Dinner and the pan seared North Atlantic salmon. Of course, Grill Room lives up to its namesake with flavorful cuts of perfectly cooked steak. Mike Dianna’s Grill Room reopens in April; we hope to see you there! It’s one of the best North Carolina restaurants to visit.

The Blue Point

Featuring an emphasis on local and sustainable seafood, The Blue Point markets themselves as the original farm-to-table obx restaurant. For 29 years, they have delivered fresh, Southern-style meals to Duck, NC. Enjoy flavors like the seared maple leaf farm duck breast served with confit salad of arugula, wild rice, and cara cara oranges. The Blue Point also features a sizeable wine list with great vintages from France, Spain, Italy, and more.

The Village Table & Tavern

When casual waterfront dining is what you’re looking for, head to The Village Table & Tavern. While this local favorite may cultivate a more casual atmosphere, the menu doesn’t sacrifice quality. Start your meal off with oysters on the half shell or smoked fish dip, or order the antipasto platter for the whole table. Once you’ve whet your appetite, dive in to their main course options such as steak frites, seafood pot pie, or one of their tasty sandwiches. You will also find a hearty selection of craft beer and wine for your libations.
