By the Sea is a semi-oceanfront, family favorite, located in the popular Island Pines community of Waves village. You are sure to be provided with memories that last a lifetime as you are less than 200 feet from beach access, and have a large private pool with tiki bar, a hot tub, and a game room.  Unwind on the expansive sundecks to watch the ocean waves or stargaze into the beautiful dark skies of Hatteras Island.

Private Pools are open from April 1 - October 31.
Pool Heat can be added for an additional $500.

Ground Level: Ground Level Amenities include a private pool with a tiki bar, a lighted fish cleaning station, 2 outdoor showers, a gas grill, and a carport and driveway that accommodates up to 6 vehicles.

Level 1: As you enter the home, you will find the spacious game room with a flat screen TV, an 8-ft pool table, a wet bar with a full size refrigerator and microwave, and access to the pool area. Off the game room is Bedroom # 1, a spacious bedroom with 2 sets of Twin bunk beds and a Roku TV. The laundry area, a full bathroom, and a half bath are also found on this level. 

Level 2: The second level offers 5 spacious bedrooms, all equipped with cable TVs. Bedrooms #2 and #3 are each furnished with a King bed and bedrooms #4 and #5 are each furnished with a Queen bed. Bedrooms #2-#5 have private en suite bathrooms. The final bedroom on this level, bedroom #6, is furnished with two Twin beds and has access to a full bathroom located off the hallway. Enjoy the spacious screened porch and covered decks with ample seating and the 8-person hot tub on this level.

Top Level: As you make your way to the top floor, you will enter the remarkable living area with cathedral ceilings and views of the Atlantic Ocean. The living area features a large sectional sofa, a game table that seats 4, a large 4K TV with a DVD player and streaming channels for your entertainment. The sizeable kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, all the cookware you will need to prepare your favorite meal, a breakfast bar that seats 4, and a dining table that seats 10. Off the living area, you will find Bedroom # 7, a spacious King bedroom with a large ensuite bathroom that has a whirlpool tub and a shower.

Extras: Private pool, private hot tub, pool table, 9 Roku TVs, DVD/DVDs, WiFi, gas grill, kitchenette, board games, Keurig, fish cleaning table, outside shower, screened porch, covered decks, sun decks, deck furniture, and parking for 6 vehicles. No Smoking. No Pets. Distance to beach access: 195 feet. Beds: 3 Kings, 2 Queens, 2 Twin Bunk Beds, 2 Twins. Key Type: Keyless entry. Check In Location: At property.

Linens and towels provided at no additional cost. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made with the exception of sleep sofas, top bunks and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. You will receive an email 24 hours after booking with instructions to log on to guest web to electronically sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment. You will have 10 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance payment to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

We loved our stay at 'By the Sea' and are already planning to return next year. By far the nicest house we have been to yet in the OBX. The house is enormous and every bedroom is spacious with its own bathroom. The beach is only a short 2-3 minute walk from the house over the dunes. We had two very minor complaints. First, the kitchen was only stocked with the absolute bare minimums and had no extras (like no spatulas for example) and second, a few extra towels and washcloths would have been nice rather than just the bare minimums. Again, very minors issues. I would absolutely recommend this house and would stay here again.

The place was as described. The location is perfect and we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise each day. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and given the time of year, heating the pool really helped us enjoy the stay. The company was responsive to inquiries and requests to help us relax. Our family would stay here again.

Waves, the second of the Tri-Villages, is located on the northern end of Hatteras Island between Rodanthe and Salvo, on a narrow strip of land nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pamlico Sound. The off-shore winds make this destination a kiteboarding and windsurfers dream and host one of the top locations in the world for watersport enthusiasts.

You can also explore the historic Cape Hatteras National Seashore with ample wildlife, beautiful beaches, and plenty of activities.
