Back for a second year, The Lost Colony Wine & Culinary Festival is just around the corner—Friday and Saturday, September 28 and 29.
Last year we had a great time sampling some truly excellent wines and it in looking over the selection fo this year, it may be even better.
The big event is on Saturday…that’s the Grand Tasting. With over 100 wines on hand as well as beer from five local breweries, the day promises to be something truly special.
The Vintner’s Dinner on Friday evening seems like a great warmup to the event, with dinner any 108 Budleigh in Manteo. Two of Durham’s finest chef’s Josh DeCarolis of Mother & Sons Trattoria and Phil Bey from Saint James will be on hand creating a special night of dining.
But what should truly elevate the evening are the wine pairings that will be offered with the wines from Francis Ford Coppola’s Virginia Dare Winery. The event last year highlighted how wine and food can elevate each other and the same should be the case for the Friday evening event.
But Saturday is the big day with wine being poured in the Sound Stage Theater and beer in the breezeway leading to the Waterside Theater stage—where there will be live music.
The event last year was memorable, with outstanding wines, some wonderful light food offered with the wines, great local beer and a fantastic setting nestled against the backdrop of the Roanoke Sound.
