The Daredevils play in the Tidewater Summer League, a league made up of collegiate ballplayers looking to up their game and in some cases catch the eye of a major league scout.
No metal bats here, the games are played using wooded bats and the action is a lot like a major league game, although the kids on the field still have a way to go. There is a classic sound to a wooden bat meeting a ball that a metal bat will never make.
It’s a wonderful evening of baseball—fans are right on top of the action. The field is very well protected so if the kids want to run around while Mom and Dad watch the game, it’s ok.
Tickets are $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for kids and active military are free. Concessions are very reasonably priced. A family of four should be able to buy tickets, have something to eat and take in a great evening of baseball for $60 at the most.
Daredevil home games are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings through July and into August.
