Dowdy Park poster

Wear that face covering, remember social distancing, but by all means put the Dowdy Park Holiday Farmers Market in Nags Head on the to do list.

There will be three of them this year: Saturday, November 21, 9am – 12pm; Thursday December 10, 3pm – 7pm; and Saturday, December 19, 9am – 12pm.

The weather this Saturday is looking like a perfect fall day. Temperatures are forecast to be in the low 60s with plenty of sunshine. This is a great opportunity to shop local because there will be more than just local farmers on hand.

There will also be baked goods on hand and, evidently some wine for purchase if the information from the town is accurate.

According to the town of Nags Head, there will be “… gift-giving possibilities of local artists and crafters.”

Some Features of Dowdy Park

One of the nicer features of Dowdy Park is how family friendly it is. The greens space in the middle and pavilions around the outside are perfect for produce stands and local artists. But the space also has a wonderful playground that will keep children occupied for hours.

There’s plenty of parking, and it’s conveniently located at the intersection of Bonnett Street and S. Croatan Highway—that’s the Bypass for those who don’t navigate by street names.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner this seems like a perfect time to stock up. It may be a Thanksgiving unlike others that we have had in the past. Maybe this year the gathering isn’t quite as big as it has been in the past. Maybe some creative ways of staying in touch will have to be used.

But it is Thanksgiving and it’s a day we have set aside to celebrate our blessings.

We would love to have your visit us at Brindley Beach Vacations. A week or two on the Outer Banks may be just what is needed to recharge yourself.
