Fall is festival time on the Outer Banks and the festival season is now in full swing.
For music lovers, this coming week may be the best week of the year with two major festival on tap. Wednesday through Saturday it’s the Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival and on Saturday and Sunday it’s the Duck Jazz Festival.
The two events are scheduled perfectly this year so music lovers won’t have to make much of a choice. Although the Duck Jazz Festival overlaps with the Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, the big day for the Jazz Fest is Sunday.
Both festivals are bringing in some world class musicians.
Rhonda Vincent and the Rage will be coming again this year to the Bluegrass Festival. She and her group have made it to every one of the festivals to date. She has a very well-well-deserved reputation for outstanding musicianship.
She is not the only headliner coming to town. Darell Webb will be performing on Friday night and look for Breaking Glass on Saturday.
The Duck Jazz Festival is looking great as well with Yolanda Rabun and The Russell Malone Quartet.
Both festivals are outdoors in beautiful settings—Duck Jazz at the Duck Town Green and the Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo. The Duck Jazz Festival is free.
