We’ve been writing about all the entertainment stuff for the past few weeks and haven’t even mentioned the fishing, which just turned great—especially the piers. Trophy red drum seem to running in really good number according to the reports we’re seeing.

Surf fishing has been good as well. Pompano are still being landed and there’s a lot of reports of bluefish in good numbers.

Tomorrow looks like it’s going to be a washout, but after that there is no rain in the forecast for at least a week with nice mild temperatures, which, of course, is why everyone who lives here keeps saying fall is the best time of the year on the Outer Banks.

With the weather looking this good and the fish biting, everything seems to be aligning for the 3rd Annual Outer Banks Seafood Festival to be another spectacular success. Held at the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau Event Site in Nags Head the past two years have been a great time, great music and a lot of very tasty seafood.

It’s all day Saturday. There’s no parking at the site, but lots of shuttle buses all day.
