March is really the kickoff for the spring season on the Outer Banks. We’ve had a couple of nasty days with high winds and chilly temperatures, but the weather is about to break. Seems like the classic description March in like a lion and out like a lamb . . . at least we hope so.

The moderate temperatures and sunshine seem to be arriving just in time for what promises to be an amazing week starting next Sunday, March 13 when the Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade marches for a mile on the Beach Road in Nags Head.

If there is one parade to mark on the calendar, this is it. A whacky fun and funny parade that paints a wonderful image of the Outer Banks, it is two or three hours of sheer delight on a Sunday afternoon.

Later that week, starting on Thursday, March 17 and running through Sunday, March 20, the Outer Banks Taste of the Beach creates a four day culinary tour of the northern Outer Banks. With events scheduled all day long from Corolla to Manteo, there is more than any one person could possibly do, but it sure it fun to try.

It’s short notice, but if a week off from work in March can be arranged, the St. Patty’s Day Parade and Taste of the Beach make for a special time. Here at Brindley Beach Vacations, we have some great rentals available for the week. Check us out online or give us a call at (877) 642-3224.
