There is so much happening on the Outer Banks this weekend that we don’t know how we’re going to get to everything. There’s the Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival, the Dare County Arts Council’s Artrageous and the Eastern Surf Association Championships at Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head. And all of that is happening on Saturday.
But one event we don’t want to lose sight of in all of this is Sancturary Vineyard’s Crabdaddy which may be the best crab cracking outdoor festival we have seen. Doesn’t hurt that the it’s at winery so yes, there is wine—and beeer—available to go with the crab.
Live music rounds out the entertainment.
Even though wine and beer are a part of the celebration of all things crab, Vineyard Manager John Wright is all about making sure his events are family friendly and Crabdaddy is no exception. There’s some great activities for kids including hayrides.
It all happens at Sanctuary Vineyards which is next door to the Cotton Gin in Jarvisburg.
For families looking for something to do with kids, another event worth checking out is the DCAC’s Artrageous, which is a wonderful celebration of the arts, creativity and kids. That’s happening at Rec Park in Kill Devil Hills from 10-3 p.m. on Saturday.
There’s no excuse for being inside this weekend—the weather is just about perfect and there is plenty to do. Click here and check out our awesome short term rentals in Outer Banks!
