It’s Christmas 2016 on the Outer Banks and it seems as though the world has paused for a moment to take a breath.
As the morning turned to afternoon, there was almost no traffic on the roads but driveways were filled with cars, their license plates telling the tale of journeys to be with family and loved ones.
In front yards and steps and porches the sound of joy that comes from seeing a brother or sister or parent for the first time in a while filled the air. Children run from cars to greet grandparents or aunts and uncles.
It was a still day on the Outer Banks. The wind, what little there was of it, came from the north today, but the sun was out for most of the time and it was warm enough and calm enough for a father and on to take a rubber band airplane outside and see what would happen.
For all of the beauty of the Outer Banks, for all of the wonderfully unique qualities that it has, it is still very much a part of the fabric of life that all of us enjoy. It is at this time of life that the joy of life and the gift of the human spirits seem to soar.
With that thought in mind, from the staff at Brindley Beach Vacations to our friends and families everywhere, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
