This coming weekend is going to be an exciting one on the Outer Banks with two great events back to back.
There’s a long standing tradition—this is the 43rd annual for the event—that the first Saturday of June is Dare Days in Manteo…June 2 this year.
It’s a great day to be in downtown Manteo. Lots of free entertainment with local performer Graham Outten starting things off. There will be music all day including singing pirates, the Shadow Players Stage Combat Group will recreate the Golden Age of Piracy and, of course the Blue-Ribbon Competition for the best pie, cake, bread, cookies and canned goods.
Dare Days has always been about family and the 2018 version is no exception with lots for the whole family to do.
If Dare Days has been around for 43 turns around the sun, the new kid on the block is the Outer Banks Annual Food Truck Showdown happening Sunday, June 3 at the Nags Head Event Site.
It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun with 12 local food trucks on hand.
Here’s the food truck lineup, offering everything from gourmet foods to frozen deserts:
- Big Daddy’s Brick Oven Pizza
- Outer Banks Brewing Station
- Fork’et Me Not
- Mulligan’s Grille
- Sugar Creek Restaurant
- Tubbs Hot Dogs
- Kelly’s OBX Catering
