Just in time for Halloween the 2nd Annual Halloween International Film Festival opens tomorrow, Thursday and runs through Saturday, October 28.

Sue and Matt Artz, who are the driving force behind the festival, have done an outstanding job of bringing together a wide range of horror, sci-fi and supernatural films. There are shorts, and feature length films—and a few in between in length.

Making this really interesting, the festival is featuring a number of films shot in North Carolina including Sightings, a North Carolina Premier for the film. Following the showing there will be a Q&A with director Dallas Morgan.

One of the nice features of the festival is the opportunity to talk to a number of the directors of the films. Q&As are scheduled every day of the event.

With over 40 films scheduled, there should be something for everyone here.

The Festival wraps up on Sunday with the annual Halloween Parade at Kelly’s Outer Banks Tavern in Nags Head—no films but a great time for everyone.

All movies will be shown at the RC Movie Theatre in Kill Devil Hills.

First showing is 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
