Columbus Day Weekend is only a month away, so now is the time to make plans to come to the Outer Banks for one of the best weekends of the Fall. It’s mostly a music weekend, and one that a lot of our visitors and residents mark on their calendars.
It kicks off on Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8 with the Mustang Music Festival. Two stages and constant music is what the festival is all about…that and amazing music. Mike Dianna figured from his first Mustang Music Festival in 2011 that the way to maximize the music and the experience for the festival goers was to keep the music going and he’s worked out the timing so there is always a band playing.
Held at the Whalehead Club, it’s close to a perfect setting for a music festival. An added benefit to the festival is that proceeds benefit the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, the folks that manage the Corolla heard of Colonial Spanish Mustangs.
The Mustang Music Festival ends on Saturday and Sunday it’s music on the Duck Town Green at the 10th Annual Duck Jazz Festival. A free event, the outdoor setting is as good as it gets. With Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo headlining, event headliners look as though they hit a homerun for the 10th annual version of the festival.
We have to mention one other event the occurs every Columbus Day Weekend—our annual Brindley Beach Vacations thank you gala for our employees and homeowners. Homeowners, be sure to put that on your calendars—it’s a great time and it’s free.
