Serving fresh North Carolina seafood at the Outer Banks Seafood Festival.
The Outer Banks Seafood Festival coming up Saturday, October 21 is more proof that that fall has become Festival Season on the Outer Banks.
This is definitely a day not to miss with some really cool demonstrations, great music, crafts and most importantly fresh North Carolina seafood prepared by some of the best Outer Banks restaurants.
The setting, at the Event Site in Nags Head is the perfect location for a seafood fest. Overlooking Roanoke Sound, the view is a reminder of how much fishing has meant to the history, culture and economy of the Outer Banks.
Gates open at 10:30, although the official opening ceremonies are not until noon. There is music all day with the headliner Kevin Mac taking the stage at 3:30 with a scheduled two-and-a-half hour show.
Mac is mostly country—with a great voice—but there is no doubt it’s country with an attitude. And, from time to time, he throws in some classic rock and a little bit of funk. Should be fun.
But we don’t want to take our eyes off the prize, and that is the food…and wine and beer and, or course, soft drinks and water.
From the outset when organizers thought of this event, it was envisioned as a day of rate family, and over the years, it has continued to be geared toward all ages.
