There’s a chance of springtime showers today–and spring is the important word here because after what was probably the toughest winter in at least 20 years, the forecast for the next ten days or so is decidedly springlike.
The change in the season brings more than just better weather, though. We’re not seeing as many activities as we see in the summer, but the Outer Banks event calendars are certainly starting to fill up.
With Easter later than usual this year, the weather should be great for the weekend and there are a couple of Easter Egg hunts that have stood the test of time and keep families coming back year after year.
In Corolla, check out the Easter Eggstravaganza at the Whalehead Club that Brindley Beach sponsors. That’s on Friday, April 18.
For families in Kitty Hawk and south, the Kitty Hawk Kites Fly into Spring & Easter Eggstravaganza at the Nags Head store across fromJockey’s Ridge State Park is always a good time.
Bikers, get ready. At the end of the month, April 19-27, the 12th Annual Bikers Week comes to town–or towns, since it covers just about the entire Outer Banks. The event has been steadily gaining popularity. Yes, it does have the many of the events associated with a biker’s week, but there is also a very strong family element to it.
Finally, now that the weather is getting better the running is back on the competition map.
