There’s a lot scheduled on the Outer Banks this weekend, but all of it plays second fiddle to the Outer Banks Wedding Association’s (OBWA) Wedding Expo. This is the can’t miss event for brides and grooms planning on saying their vows on the Outer Banks.

According to OBWA there will be over 200 vendors on hand, so this is the best place to make contact with the wedding planners, caterers, photographers and all those people that help to crate a truly memorable experience

It is a two day event—Saturday and Sunday, January 16 and 17. Held in Kill Devil Hills at First Flight High School and First Flight Middle School, for two days, the schools shed their institutional appearance and become a centerpiece of wedding dreams.

Some advice from a veteran of a number of OBWA Wedding Expos—wear comfortable shoes; even though there is a shuttle service between the two schools, there is a lot of walking to do. Also, eat very little or nothing at all before you go. There are 35 caterers listed as members—they will all be at the show and they will all be offering samples.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions and take lots of notes. There is so much information to be gathered that without some way to remember who said what it will all become a blur.

Most of all—have fun. Yes, this is about making decisions regarding one of the most significant events of our lives, but that event is also a celebration of a journey together—enjoy the ride.

And—don’t forget to stop by our Brindley Beach Vacations booth and say hello.
