It’s June. It’s summer and it’s the Outer Banks so the Soundside Fun Fair is heading to the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head for the fifth time.

A benefit for Dare County Children and Youth Partnership, the Fun Fair is as close to the perfect way to spend a wonderful time with the whole family as could be. There are rides, food, games—a very traditional amusement park feel  and just plain, well…fun.

Things kick off on Thursday, June 9 and will be at the Event Site through Sunday, June 12. Times are 5:00 p.m. till 11:00 p.m..

Kids will have a great time—guaranteed. There are 12 to 14 rides this year. A ferris wheel of course, bumping cars, gravity well and a lot more. We won’t know until everything gets set up, but there are always a couple of rides for the youngest set as well as the more exciting rides for teens and, yes, parents.

Lot’s of food as well. The usual culprits, of course, hot dogs and such. But also pizza and calzones. Cotton candy, funnel cakes—basically everything expected from a traditional traveling arcade.

There are also a lot of games, which is also part of the fun.

Dare County Children and Youth Partnership works with government agencies and private donors to provide services for children and their families. The focus of the organization is on at risk children and families and since the founding of CYP in 1994, they have been remarkably successful at working with parents, government agencies and the family.

CYP is also very active in administering Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and also handles Dare County’s Smart Stasrt program, and North Carolina initiative working to ensure that children enter school healthy and ready for success.

There are so many great people living and working on the Outer Banks, and it is the people who live here that make this a great wonderful place to visit. See for yourself when you spend some time in a Brindley Beach Vacations home.
