Osprey is a unique oceanfront home centrally located in Avon Village with the beach as its backyard! Your options don't end at the beach... enjoy the 8-person hot tub or enjoy over 2,000 square feet of expansive decks to watch the ocean waves or stargaze at the beautiful Hatteras Island night sky. Osprey boasts magnificent cathedral ceilings, panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, and an additional guest house for extended groups!

Ground Level: Ground Level Amenities include direct beach access, an outside shower, a charcoal grill, and a carport and driveway that accommodates up to 7 vehicles, 

Mid Level: As you enter the home, you will find four large bedrooms and two bathrooms. Bedroom #1 boasts ocean views and is furnished with a King Bed. Bedroom #2 is furnished with a Twin bunk bed and Pyramid (Twin over Full) Bunk Bed.  Bedrooms #1 and #2 share a large Jack and Jill bathroom with direct access from both bedrooms. Bedroom #3 is furnished with a Queen and Twin Bed plus a desk for those of you who may need to get some work done. Bedroom #4 is furnished with a Queen Bed. Bedrooms #3 and #4 share the full bathroom off the hallway.

Top Level: As you make your way to the top level, you are greeted by the huge open floor plan living space with vaulted cathedral ceilings. The kitchen is fully stocked and has a large granite island that is perfect for serving buffet-style meals. Everyone can gather to eat at the 10 ft. long dining table that seats 10 and the breakfast bar that seats 3. The living area is spacious with ample seating and a flat-screen TV. Out on the oceanfront deck, you will find a bubbly hot tub with stunning ocean views, a covered outside picnic area, and deck furnishings. There is also a covered picnic table to enjoy your meals outdoors. Off the living area, you will find Bedroom #5, furnished with a King Bed, chaise lounge, slider to the deck, and a skylight to watch the moon and stars as you go to sleep. The bedroom is connected to an oversized bathroom which has a powder room and laundry closet. 

Guest House: What sets Osprey apart from most rentals is the detached guest house. The guest house is set up like a studio apartment, with a full kitchen, a 2-person dining set, a futon, a TV, a full bathroom, and 1 King bed. Enjoy the ocean views from the private deck with seating.

Extras: Access to Kinnakeet Shores Community Pool and Tennis Courts, guest house, hot tub, outside shower, 6 TVs, WiFi, charcoal grill, traditional coffee maker, crockpot, books, games, covered deck, sun deck, and deck furniture. No Smoking/Vaping. Dogs Welcome. Seasonal Flex Stay with 3-Night Minimum (October 1 to May 31). Distance to beach access: Oceanfront. Beds: 2 Kings, 2 Queens,1 Pyramid Bunk Bed (Twin over Full), 1 Twin Bunk Bed,1 Twin. Guest House: 1 King. Key Type: Keyless Entry. Check-In Location: At the Property.

Fireplace is not for guest use.  

Linens and towels are provided all year. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made except for sleep sofas, top bunks, and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom, and a bathmat for each shower or tub.

Military Discount: This home offers a 5% military discount (leaseholder only). Verification of service will be requested. Must be applied at time of booking. Please contact us at 252-453-3000 before signing lease and/or making a payment.

Repeat Renter Discount: This home offers a 5% repeat renter discount. Must be applied at the time of booking.

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. After booking, you will receive an email to sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment electronically. You will have 3 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance deposit to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

We were so very happy with our stay. There is so much space in the home and the wrap around decks were superb. We loved the hot tub and easy beach access. The home was super comfy & there was adequate room for everyone. It was a plus to have access to the beach club and the convenience of all of the stores were key to our stay. The Osprey House was the perfect home for my 7 adults and 2 babies .we stayed for 2 weeks and had such great weather . The Osprey is clean, comfortable and had all the necessary supplies. We did encounter a few maintenance issues which were addressed quickly and efficiently. Shout out to Sheri and the team for their support. The location and views were amazing!

This home has great ocean access and views from the deck. It was very roomy for our 12 intergenerational guests. The table sat all 12 of us and the kitchen had plenty of silverware , plates, cups, glasses. We loved our stay and I would rebook if we were returning next year!

'Osprey' has a 5 star location we would definitely stay there again. Deck seating was fantastic, we watched dolphins and spotted a whale during our stay. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. 'Osprey' is highly recommended for a great beach visit!

This is an incredible house!! The pictures don’t do it justice to the view. It is truly stunning. Our extended family of 14 stayed here comfortably. The guest house is perfect for family units with little ones or guests who need quiet spaces. My 3 month old baby and 3 year old slept so well in the guest house with me, and it was quiet so they could sleep soundly but also not wake up guests in the main house when they woke up early. The beach front access is ideal, and we could sit on the deck and watch family members who were playing on the beach below. The top floor living area was fun for cooking and family meals. The house is also walking distance to the grocery store and great restaurants. This is truly a gem - if you’re questioning whether or not to book - go for it! Shore Details is incredibly responsive!

Overall, our stay was great. The location is very relaxing. I think it is more fun if you go there during the summer so you will enjoy the beach. It is a nice place. Great if you have friends or families to come with you since it is a big place, not to mention the guest house. I recommend the place if you want to experience a different serenity and comfort.

We loved our stay at the 'Osprey'. My husband and I put the trip together for my family. We stayed in the guest house, which was perfect as we both had to work a little bit; and it was nice to have a place to retreat to for phone calls/Zoom meetings. The main house is gorgeous and the view is unbeatable. Loved the large dining table and loved all of the chairs on the porch. Great for reading with a coffee in the morning. Of all the places I've stayed in the OBX, this was also my favorite in relation to proximity to town and everything we needed. Right across the street from Food Lion, tons of restaurants, and shops. Avon is great because it's right in the middle of all of the great little towns you want to visit. I would highly recommend this area but specifically this rental. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We really enjoyed every aspect of this house! It was clean, decorated in a modern bohemian vibe. The views, proximity to the beach, the spacious rooms…we enjoyed every minute of our stay! Even though the weather was CRAZY!!! There was flooding, high winds and cold…but we were happy in the house and taking walks on the beach as weather allowed.

The location of this house is perfect. You’re right on the beach and close to the grocery stores and restaurants. You can’t get any better than that! It was a great size for our 16 guests!
