Welcome to Channel House – a waterfront gem tucked away in the heart of Buxton on Hatteras Island. This charming 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom retreat invites you to slow down and savor life by the water. With stunning, unobstructed views of the Pamlico Sound and direct access to a private boat slip, it’s the perfect blend of cozy cottage comfort and coastal adventure.

Ground Level: As you arrive, you'll find everything you need for a stress-free stay. There’s parking for up to four vehicles, a dedicated laundry room, and an outdoor shower—perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach. The spacious yard offers room to relax, stretch out in the hammock, or fire up the charcoal grill for an evening cookout. You’ll also have access to an on-site EV charger, making it easy to power up your vehicle during your stay. For those eager to get on the water, there’s direct sound access and a private deep-water boat slip, ideal for launching kayaks, paddleboards, or setting off on a boating adventure right from your backyard.

Single Level: Inside, you’ll be greeted by a bright, open-concept living space filled with natural light and relaxed coastal charm. The living area offers comfortable seating, a Smart TV for movie nights, and a small desk—perfect for planning your day or catching up on emails. The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to whip up your favorite meals, including your fresh catch of the day. On the kitchen table, you’ll also find a convenient charging station and instant Wi-Fi connection, making it easy for guests to plug in and get online when they arrive. The dining area seats eight, creating the perfect spot for shared meals and evening conversations. Just outside, the covered porch and sundeck offer peaceful canal views and a peaceful soundside setting.

The home offers 4 thoughtfully designed bedrooms to ensure a restful and relaxing stay. Bedrooms 1 and 2 each feature a cozy queen bed and scenic views of the sound—perfect for waking up to peaceful water vistas. These two rooms share a spacious full bathroom just steps away. Bedroom 3, furnished with a twin bunk bed and a Smart TV, is a great option for kids or extra guests. Bedroom 4 also includes a queen bed and Smart TV, and shares a second full bathroom conveniently located off the hallway.

Whether chasing adventure or simply unwinding in the salty breeze, Channel House provides the perfect setting to create lasting memories on Hatteras Island—from sunset watching and waterside lounging to good food, great company, and the gentle rhythm of life by the sound.

Linens and towels are provided all year. This home will provide sheets for all beds, and the beds will be made, except for sleep sofas, top bunks, and trundle beds, in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom, and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

Booking: During the booking process, you will be asked to enter a credit card number; nothing will be charged to this card. After booking, you will receive an email to sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment electronically. You will have 3 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance deposit to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

This was our second year staying. We love it here location is the best. Good job on the upgrades! Only thing bad is the couch. I think there are new owners so I am sure that it is something on their list to do. Incredibly sunrises and sunsets! Thanks for sharing your house with our family!

Your house is lovely and the location is perfect. The views from the decks were gorgeous. Sunsets were amazing! The layout was comfortable and it was decorated nicely. We enjoyed the house and working with Brindley Beach!

Marilyn at Brindley went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy. I am a sports nut and the Roku TV was not set up for guest services. She helped us hook up our computer to the tv so I could watch the MLB playoffs and football. Thanks to Marilyn and Brindley Beach. By far the best real estate company that we have worked with. Channel house was well maintained and clean. The view of the sound was breathtaking, and it was fun seeing boats travel from the boatyard nextdoor. We really enjoyed our stay, it's so secluded but yet so close to everything in town. Do yourself a favor and eat at the Sandbar and Grill right next door! Awesome restaurant! Everything was as described in the property description, with one exception, the hammock is gone. Brindley Beach was great, they made everything so easy. We wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future or to return to Channel House! Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

A very cute, well maintained house on the sound…so close to everything but yet secluded.. Lots of birds, fish and even an otter! Besides the fact it’s so private, the views of unobstructed sunrise and sunset are beautiful. The longer you look at the dark sky, the more stars you see. This has definitely been the best week out of 16 years coming down. The boat yard was very interesting to watch and our dog loved playing with Dory!

One of the best vacations our family has been on in awhile. The seven of us and our dog Tyson drove for 12 hours to get there, and we were not disappointed! The dog and kids loved sitting on deck and the freedom to move around. House had everything we needed. Televisions were great and easy to use. The location was perfect to go on outings during the day and come back to relaxation at night. Picturesque views and a great area to kayak and fish in the morning. Thank you for giving a vacation to remember and hope to be back again next year!

If you are a person that needs to see water to cleanse the soul, then this is your spot! Tranquil, serene, peaceful, even in 20 to 30 mph winds. 'Channel House' is welcoming, quaint and it was super clean! Yes she's a bit worn around the edges, but aren't we all? To my dad and I, this gem was exactly what our souls needed. Every morning, but one, on the deck for sunrise and coffee and every evening on the other deck for sunset and cocktail. Also enjoyed watching the marina come to life as the boat owners scurried to get their boats ready for spring! PERFECT! THANK YOU CHANNEL HOUSE!

'Channel House' is amazing! Our family took everything in that the house and the area of the Outer Banks had to offer. The house is very clean, from the comfy beds to the beautiful decks, you will not be disappointed with your visit. The sunrises and sunsets over the water are breathtaking. There is also a slip for a kayak on the sound if you bring one or rent it locally. Our family would love to visit again some day!
