Centrally located in Kitty Hawk on the Oceanside near the beach and all the restaurants and shops.

Ground Level: Exterior amenities include a carport with an outside shower. Inside you'll find the laundry area with washer and dryer.

Mid Level: Great Room with a large flat-screen TV, kitchen with counter seating 2, dining area seating 6 and deck access. Queen Bedroom with a flat-screen TV and a semi-private full bathroom (second door from bathroom to living areas). Recreation room with a large flat-screen TV/Blu-Ray DVD, pool table, foosball table and half bath.

Top Level: Queen Master Bedroom Suite with a flat-screen TV and a private full bathroom, open loft with a Futon and ocean views and a Queen Bedroom with flat-screen TV/DVD, private deck access and ocean views that shares a jack-n-jill bathroom with a Bedroom with 2 Singles and flat-screen TV/DVD.

Extras: 6 TVs, 3 DVD players, high speed internet access, pool table, foosball table, DVDs, screened porch, charcoal grill, high chair, baby gates, parking for 5 vehicles, washer/dryer and an enclosed outside shower. No Smoking. No Pets. Full week rentals only. Beds: 3 Queens, 2 Singles, Futon. House Address: 4404 Ride Lane, Kitty Hawk. Distance to beach access: 730'. Key Type: Hard Key (must pick up keys from check-in office). CHECK IN LOCATION: 3719 N. Croatan Hwy., Kitty Hawk Office.

Linens and towels provided at no additional cost. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made with the exception of sleep sofas, top bunks and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. You will receive an email 24 hours after booking with instructions to log on to guest web to electronically sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment. You will have 10 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance payment to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

Origin of the Name

The origin of the name Kitty Hawk is still a matter of local debate but most people agree that it’s a Native American name for this area meaning “a time or place to hunt geese.” The word originally appeared on English settlers maps in the early 1700’s as “Chickehawk” or “Chickahawk”. By the late 1700’s, old land deeds referred to these settlements as “Kittyhuk”, “Kittyhark”, “KittyHawk” and “Kitty Hawk”, which is how the local residents spell the name as we do today.

Most Hospitable People

When Orville and Wilbur Wright were looking for a site for their aviation experiments in 1900, a Kitty Hawk citizen, Mr. Tate, assured the Wrights in a letter that Kitty Hawk would provide the ideal location for their experiment. He also encouraged Wilbur: “If you decide to try your machine here and come, I will take pleasure in doing all I can for your convenience, success, pleasure and I assure you that you will find hospitable people when you come among us.” This tradition still lives on today in Kitty Hawk.
