Ground Level: Exterior amenities include a fully gated private pool with hot tub and foot wash, covered carport with outside shower, charcoal grill and a picnic table. Entry level.

Mid Level: Queen Master Bedroom with a TV and deck access, Bedroom with a Double Bed and Single Trundle, Bedroom with 2 Singles, full hallway bathroom and a laundry area with washer and dryer.

Top Level: Great room with a TV/VCR/DVD and deck access, kitchen with breakfast bar seating 2, dining area seating 8 and a King Master Bedroom with TV.

Extras: Private Pool (14 x 20), Hot Tub, 3 TVs, VCR, DVD Player, high-speed wireless internet, picnic table, foot wash, beach chairs, high chair, pack-n-play, outside shower, washer/dryer, parking for 4 cars, charcoal grill and linens and towels provided. No Smoking. No Pets. Full week rentals only. Distance to beach access: 590'. Beds: King, Queen, Double, 2 Singles, Trundle. House Address: 3700 Hallett Street, Kitty Hawk. Key Type: Hard Key (must pick up keys from check-in office). CHECK IN LOCATION: 3719 N. Croatan Hwy., Kitty Hawk Office.

Linens and towels provided at no additional cost. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made with the exception of sleep sofas, top bunks and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. You will receive an email 24 hours after booking with instructions to log on to guest web to electronically sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment. You will have 10 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance payment to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

It's roomy and cozy, and very near the beach. Has outside shower (with hot water) in the grilling area, which is really helpful. We enjoyed the private hot tub and pool. We had telework and online school the entire week and no problems with the WIFI.

House was very nice clean pool and hot tub. The kitchen ware was a bit limited but for the most part had what you could need. Unfortunately the roof did leak right above the bed when it rained while we were there, this was the biggest downfall but they got maintenance there quickly to look and take pictures so hopefully that will be fixed.

An estimated 12 Public Beach Accesses in Kitty Hawk (located on Virginia Dare Tr. – AKA “The Beach Road”, starting at MP2 at Byrd St and run through MP4 at Kitty Hawk Bath House.)

Origin of the Name

The origin of the name Kitty Hawk is still a matter of local debate but most people agree that it’s a Native American name for this area meaning “a time or place to hunt geese.” The word originally appeared on English settlers maps in the early 1700’s as “Chickehawk” or “Chickahawk”. By the late 1700’s, old land deeds referred to these settlements as “Kittyhuk”, “Kittyhark”, “KittyHawk” and “Kitty Hawk”, which is how the local residents spell the name as we do today.

Most Hospitable People

When Orville and Wilbur Wright were looking for a site for their aviation experiments in 1900, a Kitty Hawk citizen, Mr. Tate, assured the Wrights in a letter that Kitty Hawk would provide the ideal location for their experiment. He also encouraged Wilbur: “If you decide to try your machine here and come, I will take pleasure in doing all I can for your convenience, success, pleasure and I assure you that you will find hospitable people when you come among us.” This tradition still lives on today in Kitty Hawk.
