"Annie Oakley" is located at Mile Post 3.75 on a quiet street that's great for biking, jogging, walking and offers easy and direct beach access. Enjoy 2 furnished sun decks, the east side deck offers a porch swing and sunrise view. From the west side deck you have a great view of the beautiful outer banks sunsets! 

Ground Level: Outside shower, gas grill and unfinished laundry/storage room with washer and dryer (only accessible from outside).

Top Level: Spacious great room with a large flat-screen TV, Queen Sleep Sofa and deck access, galley kitchen with breakfast bar seating 2 and the dining area with seating for 7. King Bedroom with flat-screen TV and deck access, Queen Bedroom with flat-screen TV, full hallway bath with stand up shower, Bedroom with a DuoBunk, Trundle and flat-screen TV, and another full hallway bath with tub/shower combo.

Extras: 4 TVs, sun deck, deck furniture, parking for 4 cars, high speed wireless internet, enclosed outside shower, 5 ceiling fans, washer/dryer, gas grill and unlimited long distance calling within the US. No Smoking. NO PETS. Full week rentals only. Distance to Beach: 500'. Beds: King, Queen, DuoBunk, Trundle, Queen Sleep Sofa. House Address: 4212 Lindbergh Avenue, Kitty Hawk. Linens and towels provided at no additional cost. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made with the exception of sleep sofas, top bunks and trundle beds in which case the sheets are provided. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the house sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

This home charges a $250 Security Deposit, refundable pending no damage.

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. You will receive an email 24 hours after booking with instructions to log on to guest web to electronically sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment. You will have 10 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance payment to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

Great location. Easy walk to beach. Fully stocked kitchen in order to cook at home a couple nights. Newer appliances. Clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

This property is actually better than the photos depict. The living room specifically is a really large, open space that's great for a lot of people to relax or play games. Both decks are nice to hang out on and get some air. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Plenty of plateware and silverware in the kitchen but the knives were quite dull. Just keep in mind that youll need to bring all of your own linens and paper products.

Origin of the Name

The origin of the name Kitty Hawk is still a matter of local debate but most people agree that it’s a Native American name for this area meaning “a time or place to hunt geese.” The word originally appeared on English settlers maps in the early 1700’s as “Chickehawk” or “Chickahawk”. By the late 1700’s, old land deeds referred to these settlements as “Kittyhuk”, “Kittyhark”, “KittyHawk” and “Kitty Hawk”, which is how the local residents spell the name as we do today.

Most Hospitable People

When Orville and Wilbur Wright were looking for a site for their aviation experiments in 1900, a Kitty Hawk citizen, Mr. Tate, assured the Wrights in a letter that Kitty Hawk would provide the ideal location for their experiment. He also encouraged Wilbur: “If you decide to try your machine here and come, I will take pleasure in doing all I can for your convenience, success, pleasure and I assure you that you will find hospitable people when you come among us.” This tradition still lives on today in Kitty Hawk.
